My approach: Integrative Psychotherapy
My training is Integrative, so I draw on a variety of approaches, including existential, psychodynamic and attachment-based therapies, and tailor my response to each client’s individual needs. In short, Integrative Psychotherapy allows for a more holistic approach towards human experience and aims to promote empowerment on all levels: emotional, physical, mental and spiritual. It is a cooperative process and requires that we share ideas and feedback to ensure that we are on the best-suited track.
My priority is to create a safe, supportive environment where people feel accepted and listened to with warmth and respect, and where challenging thoughts and feelings can be shared. This process may include exploring together how experiences and patterns from the past are affecting a client’s life in the present, while also maintaining a focus on current concerns. It can also be an opportunity to create a space together to facilitate the understanding of old wounds and our response to them and learn new ways of coping with life in a more authentic way.
